Photography and video filming in the port area
Photography and video filming in the port area are only permitted by permission of the Port, 53 § Port Regulations.
Photography and video photography by means of remotely piloted aircraft in Port of HaminaKotka
Port of HaminaKotka port areas are restricted UAS zones from 1.1.2024 onwards.
Flying an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) requires a permit.
Free-form permit applications, including the items required below, are sent in writing to the Safety and Security department of port of HaminaKotka Ltd. Permit applications must be submitted to the security department at least three working days before the intended flight time.
The port may grant a permit for the use of a remotely piloted aircraft for photography and video photography in the port area, if the following conditions are met:
- The photography or video photography is related to the operator’s business.
- The operator has made a notification about the starting of the operation to the Finnish Transport Safety Agency (a copy of the notification must be delivered to the port).
- The operator has a comprehensive liability insurance for aerial photography (a copy of the insurance policy must be delivered to the port).
- The user of the aircraft has prepared a written risk assessment specific to the assignment (a copy of the risk assessment must be delivered to the port).
- The user of the aircraft has drawn up operating guidelines in writing. These must contain a description of normal operation and of operation in the event of disturbances (copy of the operating guidelines must be delivered to the port).
- The permit application must include the contact information of both the person commissioning the flight and the one carrying it out, as well as the purpose of the flight. You also need to attach the planned flight area, time and duration, the UAS device to be used, and the flight altitude.
- Permit applications in writing may be directed to Safety and Security department
