Commissioner Tzitzikostas handed over the grant for the onshore power supply project to the Port of HaminaKotka

At the end of last year, Port of HaminaKotka Ltd was granted EU co-funding from the CEF Transport Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) programme for an onshore power supply investment in the Mussalo harbour for container vessels on quays B and C. The amount of EU co-funding granted to the port company is EUR 3,006,000 and the grant was handed over to the Port of HaminaKotka Ltd at a handover ceremony held on 17 February 2026 at the Government Palace in Helsinki. 

Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Tzitzikostas, who visited Finland, handed over the grant to the Port of HaminaKotka Ltd’s Technical Director Esa Paronen and according to Commissioner Tzitzikostas, such projects are top priority for them. The port also greatly appreciates this recognition by the Commissioner. Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering, Joakim Strand, also attended the ceremony.
