Ville Kuitunen, the new Sales Manager of Port of HaminaKotka Ltd as of 12 March, is already familiar with the port as a work environment. Ville, who is 41 years of age, has been working at the port in various positions since 2002, first with general cargo at Mussalo and later with RoRo duties at Hietanen. In 2007, he started as Terminal Manager with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, and in 2011 he became the Managing Director of the terminal company in Kotka. In addition to solid sales and customer service experience, Ville also possesses comprehensive operative knowledge.

“Working with an international operator has taught me a lot about port environments. I have extensive experience in shipping, terminal and stevedoring operations. I have also had a chance to work at non-Finnish ports,” Ville says in describing his work history.

Ville Kuitunen thinks that it is great to become part of the port organisation and personnel of the Port of HaminaKotka. He specifically looks forward to solving issues related to the growth and development of business together with the customers. It is also important to attract new cargo flows to the port.

“There are many customers and partners, and I need to get to know all of them. The port is such a varied and interesting operating environment that there are certainly many new things to learn for years to come,” he continues.

Born in Kotka and having lived in his early childhood in Rauhala and having had his basic education in Vehkalahti, the Bachelor of Technology currently lives with his wife and two children at Huutjärvi in Pyhtää. His dearest hobbies include music and football. Ville plays the guitar, and he naturally has a season ticket for the games of the KTP football team in Kotka.

“AS Roma is the biggest and most fantastic international club I know. I admire Italian football in other respects, too. The drama associated with football in Italy has no compare,” Ville says.
