Petra Kuitunen is the Marketing Manager

Petra Kuitunen, MA, will start as the Marketing Manager of Port of HaminaKotka Ltd on 15 October. She will take on this position after serving as the Training Manager at the Kymenlaakso Chamber of Commerce. The logistics industry is familiar to the 37-year-old Petra from before, because after graduating from the university she worked with the port operator Steveco in several different positions for 10 years. Proficient in the Russian language, Petra accumulated experience during that period in transit forwarding, transport arrangements, sales and marketing. As the Training Manager of the Chamber of Commerce, she carried comprehensive responsibility for the training services of the Chamber of Commerce, ranging from planning to sales and marketing.

“I have had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of duties and accrue extensive knowledge. I feel that continuous competence development is important, and I am currently studying digital marketing communications within the open studies of the South Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. After that, it is time to think how digitalisation could also be utilised to a greater degree in the marketing of the port,” says Petra.

Petra lives with her husband and two children at Mussalo in Kotka, and she intends to commute the short distance to work by bike or on foot whenever possible. In addition to everyday natural exercise, her leisure activities include jogging, dancing and gym.

“In a way, working at the port is a bit like returning to my roots. I will embrace the new position with great enthusiasm and an open mind,” Petra says.
