Port areas of Port of HaminaKotka become UAS-restricted areas

The port areas of Port of HaminaKotka Ltd will become UAS-restricted areas from 1 January 2024. This means that the flying of any unmanned aerial vehicle is prohibited. An exception permit for flying an unmanned aerial vehicle is granted by the Safety and Security unit of the port. The new permit policy does not differ from the current permit policy except that the pilot now has an additional obligation to report the flight on the FLYK drone map.

The restrictions do not apply to unmanned aviation by the government or military aviation.

Legal provisions applied in Traficom’s decision:

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947
