Hot work in the port
Hot work covers all work that creates sparks, where flame or other heat sources are used, and which may cause a risk of fire.
Parties granting work permits and hot work permits:
Port of HaminaKotka Ltd gives hot work permits for repair and construction work within the general areas of the port. The holder of the area grants the permits for other areas. Enterprises operating permanently in the rented areas of the port and enterprises that own land areas at the port grant hot work permits for temporary hot work carried out in their own areas or areas administered by them.
An application for a hot work permit must be sent to the Duty Office using the form to which a link is provided below. Fill in the form carefully and send it by e-mail crane.vessel(at)haminakotka.fi. An application form for Hamina must be submitted in person to the Port Officer (tel. +358 (0)20 790 8833) or to the Track Work Foreman (tel. +358 (0)20 790 8825).
Kotkan Satamatalot Oy gives hot work permits for repair and construction work in the buildings and areas administered by it. An application for a hot work permit must be submitted using the form to which a link is provided below. The completed form must be returned in person to the Property Manager (tel. +358 (0)20 790 8862) and in Hamina to the Port Officer (tel. +358 (0)20 790 8833).

Liquid and oil terminals
A work permit, which may contain a hot work permit, must be obtained for work carried out in the liquid and oil terminals. The tools and work methods used require particular attention when work is performed in EX-marked areas.
