Port of HaminaKotka offers mooring, unmooring, transfer and haulage services for vessels at all harbours in Kotka and Hamina.
This service is available 24/7.

Environment
Port operations respecting the environmentFor many years, the Port of HaminaKotka Ltd has had a certified environmental management system. In the external audit carried out in 2019, the system was certified in accordance with the most recent standard (ISO 14001:2015). The system aims to improve and develop the operations, quality and level of environmental protection comprehensively and constantly so that we could better serve our customers and promote the competitiveness of companies operating in our region.The environmental permits related to the operation of the various parts of the port were updated in 2015. In addition to the environmental permits of the port itself, the companies operating at the port apply for the necessary environmental permits and other permits for their operations. Moreover, building projects within the port are subject to the necessary permits required by the Finnish Water Act in each individual project.

Finnpilot Pilotage Oy provides pilotage services under all conditions in order to ensure the smooth flow and safety of marine navigation, and to significantly reduce the risks of environmental accidents.
Finnpilot’s Pilot Order Centre is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Pilot Order Centre serves all parties that use pilotage services. A binding request for a pilot must be made three hours prior to the vessel

Temporary change of safe clearance depth
Port of HaminaKotka has performed an underwater maintenance survey in the Mussalo B and C basin. In the survey a shallowing of the sea basin has been detected at C berth. The normal safe clearance depth in this area is 11,50 meters.

Rail transport
The rail network within the Port of HaminaKotka encompasses approx. 90 kilometres. Hundreds of rail waggon loads arrive at and depart from the port every day. Rail transport provides efficient service for the regular transport of large volumes of goods. Thanks to rail tracks, which lead directly into terminals and warehouses, the waggons can be loaded and unloaded fluently.
Finland, Russia and the CIS countries have an identical track gauge, which is why rail transport to and from the Port of HaminaKotka is possible to take place without transloading all the way to the Chinese border.

Road transport
Road transport is one of the most visible modes of transportation at the port. Hundreds of trucks come into and leave the port daily. Smooth port services as well as gate and security arrangements enable large transport volumes.
The optimum location of HaminaKotka is highlighted in road transport. The E18 motorway runs right beside the port, which secures fast pre-carriage and on-carriage. The capital region, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and Lappeenranta Airport as well as the Vaalimaa Border Station on the border between Finland and Russia are all just over an hour’s drive away.

Access permits
Moving in the port area is only allowed if you have an access permit granted by Port of HaminaKotka Ltd or by a party authorised by it. For the access permit, in addition to the vehicle's registration number, the names of the driver(s) and any passengers are required. Anyone trying to access or move in the area must produce identification and give reason for moving within the port when asked to do so.Those working in the port can obtain their access permit from their employer, and those visiting the port can obtain an access permit from the company they are visiting. To ensure smooth processing, the access permit must be in order before entering the area.While moving within the port area, the customers and vehicles are the responsibility of the company which they are visiting.
